Our Hygienists

What is a Dental Hygienist?

Our Dental Hygienist are specially trained members of the dental team who work together with the dentists to provide a full range of dental care. They play an important role in oral health, by providing individualised preventive treatment and demonstrating correct home care to patients to prevent dental disease.

Normal Dental Hygienists perform a range of clinical duties, including:

  • Scaling and cleaning of teeth
  • The application of fluoride
  • Local analgesia, dental radiography
  • Impression taking
  • Diagnosis and treatment of periodontal disease.

Qualifications:

  • Business Certificate III Traineeship – 2004
  • Certificate III Dental Assisting – 2005-2006
  • Bachelor of Oral Health – University of Newcastle 2007-2009

Particular interests are:

  • treating patients with periodontal disease
  • promotion of Oral Health in the community
  • teeth-whitening
